The Prison Creative Arts Project (PCAP) was founded in 1990 with the mission to collaborate with incarcerated adults, incarcerated youth, urban youth and the formerly incarcerated to strengthen our community through creative expression. PCAP's Annual Exhibition of Art by Michigan Prisoners began in 1996, and the project has expanded to include the annual Exhibition of Art by Incarcerated Youth and the Linkage Project Exhibition. The Linkage Project works with individuals returning to mainstream society after incarceration, providing the means for creative expression, while the Art by Incarcerated Youth works with juveniles in Michigan facilities.
